Best sleep so far in the trip, great inexpensive room at the Best Western southeast of the downtown area. Two Queen beds , clean room, $85 a night plus tax.
Went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, haven't had a bad one there so far on the trip. Hardest part there is to get my mom, sister and wife out of the gift shop!
So the obligatory trip to The Alamo

Having already been there a few times, I opted out and instead travelled to one of the Apple Stores to get some new headphones. Made it back in 90 minutes or so, parking non existent on the street and the family had since moved on to the Riverwalk. Found a parking garage close to the Riverwalk and proceeded to look for Dad, last known location the lobby of the Hyatt. Still there when I arrived so we moseyed (in Texas you have to mosey) over to the exit doors in search of some cold beer. Didn't have to go too far, just outside along the riverwalk was Crazy Sam's Bar.
Beer was ice cold, but at $7/20 ounce cup it wasn't exactly cheap, but on this hot day it was perfect so we had a few more while waiting for the shoppers to arrive.
From here we went to the Imax Theater across the street at the River Center and got tickets to see one on The Alamo and one about Lewis and Clark. Some of us had never been to an Imax Theater and didn't know what to expect, as you can see by the photo of Dad and Quasimodo waiting for the movies to start.

This Imax is a bit different than the one in Portland at OMSI, doesn't wrap around the ceiling, its just a big screen basically, but it was good way to kill couple hours and the movies were informative. The only problem I had was in viewing the movie, since I wasn't wearing my normal glasses (I was wearing my flip up sunglasses) and I had to keep moving my head side to side to see the screen. I looked like Stevie Wonder at the piano, thus I was called "Stevie" for the rest of the day.
Wandered back (no more mosey-ing, hard to do after a few beers) to the garage and on our way to Henry's Puffy Tacos.

Very busy place, normally would be easy to find but due to road construction the exit was closed, had to make several turns and u-turns and illegal turns to get there. Took longer than anyone anticipated and if anyone had said to just forget it let's go somewhere else, I was ready to turn into Clark Griswold, however finally found it and parked. The building sits next to a taquerÃa of some kind, so by the time I got out of the rig after having to locate my glasses, everyone was out of site so I went into that building instead. Of course I didn't know anyone and it didn't look like a puffy taco stand, exit right and into the correct building, first thing I did was order a cold beer.
This was the best meal so far on the trip, the taco's came with several options, make sure that you get the platter and you will want at least two of them. I had chicken and beef. Platters come with rice and refried beans, the beans tasted homemade, almost as good as the ones that my Uncle Carlos makes back in Odell.

So tomorrow we are off to pickup Jack in Flatonia, TX (no really, it is called Flatonia) and then to visit his Grandma Glynese in West Columbia, TX, first capital of the Republic of Texas.
